High Wycombe

We were asked to create a series of feature areas to update this beautiful modern family home in High Wycombe.

One being a small bar area and matching side board. The client had an inspiration board of very slick rustic and Scandinavian interiors, so we came up with a solution using reclaimed split oak with illuminated back lighting detailing so all the splits would gently glow at night time. Comprising of bar counter and rear shelving unit with 25mm solid glass shelves in custom joinery. It took longer to hand select each piece of wood than build the actual furniture. Using re claimed timber from Victorian woodworks in east London.

A matching staircase to the bar was created using the same reclaimed oak but with ebony filler inside the cracks to add detail.  Glass banisters and custom oak handrails run up and return around the staircase and then along the full upper hallway.

The hero piece was an ostrich egg feature space below a 38mm laminated glass floor at the entrance sat in black volcanic sand. With singular egg with orange splat painted onto it. All inspired by a hotel feature the client saw on travels in Asia.
